what are you actually after? Home insurance for a tenanted property? Landlords Contents insurance?

what happened with your existing insurer for you to want to move?

We need Landlords insurance to cover the things our House Insurance doesn't, not that it worked out that way when it was required. They policy was supposed to cover intentional damage by tenant until it actually occured , it then took them around three months to find a so called loophole to get out of it.

there are no loopholes. Did you read your wording before you agreed to the cover? Not all policies include intentional damage, and a lot offer it as an additional benefit that you have to buy on top of your regular insurance cover.

if you think you have a claimable event that is being declined without reason, take it to the insurance ombudsman.

Yes of course we read the policy and yes we do feel they are declining something they should not be and yes we will be going to the ombudsman.

you absolutely should. Policy wordings are legally required to not be ambiguous, or contain any "fine print" (and they don't, most people just don't sit down and actually read what they are and are not covered for).

If the wording is unclear, or the claims people declining when they shouldn't, then the ombudsman should side in your favour.
