2 | Hubby uses an old smartphone. IT's ok but on hot days it tends to fail. Theres an app, (with very good free version available), called 'daily roads voyager' which runs the phone as a dash cam. Can be hard to get number plates if the other vehicle is approaching or passing pretty fast tho. A 'real' dashcam might be better suited I guess. We run it off the Cig lighter power tho it'll go for about maybe 2 hours on battery - it tends to chew about 1% per minute. nice_lady - 2021-11-03 15:47:00 |
3 | I bought a dashcam from a company that has now vanished. It records only the last minute even though there's plenty of space for a long journey. The instructions are just horrible. Tell us if the Jaycar one works OK. trade4us2 - 2021-11-03 16:57:00 |
4 | Ask them if you take it for a demo, if so reveiw your recording and see if you can read number plates ok. I got a ddpai off amazon which I'm quite happy with, pbtech sell them now too. Edited by bitsnpieces2020 at 9:49 pm, Wed 3 Nov bitsnpieces2020 - 2021-11-03 21:47:00 |
