So I bought a Smart Watch

#Post
1

It comes with a tiny manual. Says I have to use HeroBand!!! App.
Have set personal profile stuff in App. Recorded my steps, time and kcal today. No bpm data was recorded. Phone has no brand name. Name on box it came in is a management business in Wales. Scan of QR code in manual takes me to a Chinese site with details of a round smart watch.
Watch runs on Android per box. Just seems to be a generic watch and App. Where (say on the Net) could I find some guidance to better control and use the watch functions. Watch was cheap but seems to do basics. Like to know more though.
Thanks for any help

You haven't described the watch very well. Did you ask the seller?

I can't tell if this link describes your watch, but it has a tip about how they got the bpm to work:

edit: the picture on that page is a sales ad, rather than a picture of the watch the user has.

Thanks Gyro.
Been back to Amazon - from where I bought watch. More info re watch ....
its a Rinsmola2021 Smart Watch. I was sold it by the cool pink band!!
I shall have a play on the App - via Settings. In set up of App I have allowed all permissions - App wouldn't set up if I just selected some permissions.
Other suggestions and comments welcome.

How's much did it cost?

Cost was $66.81 NZ.
Have found some stuff on net that helps in using the device. Will "play around" with options as I use it over time. Reckon I'll settle on best options to suit what I want out of it.
Thanks for comments etc.

If anyone is looking for something like this I would recommend a well known brand like Xiaomi. You will pay about $2 more ($69) in NZ for a Mi Band 5 when they are NOT on special

Even the Mi Band 6 is only $85. And you get CGA protection.

Hubby had a Mi Band 5. It was very good I have Fitbit charge 4 and they were very similar in heartbeats and etc readings. The only downside of the Mi Band is the strap. You NEED to add a little elastic band or similar to it otherwise they're prone to falling off.

Hubby's fell off into the garden bin . He now has a Fitbit Charge 4 also lol.

Does the Mi Band 5 and 6 have the phone integration, or would that be the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite at $109? This could be a good xmas present.

I haven't worn a watch for years, relied on my phone. I've got a BP meter and blood glucose tester, my partners readings are very good, lol

What do you mean phone integration ?

They have a companion app on your phone of course.

I mean the Mi Watch Lite claims "- Instantly view calls, texts, and app notifications" - which the others don't mention. I presume this means I can answer the call on the watch (if it's within range of the phone)?

Not necessarily unless the watch has Microphone.

The miBand 5 showed texts on screen and I think you could do a basic reply. It would also show notification of emails etc as far as I recall. It had no mic.

a mere $33.98 right now. This is the "5" Band so it doesn't have SPO2. I would suggest getting one that does have it, (the "6" does I believe). From experience with my fitbit the SPO2 reading dropping over a few days was one of the things which alerted me to an issue with my breathing, (asthma and a bit of an allergic reaction to pollens), and prompted me to go to the Dr. That and average heart resting heart rates, and heart rates while exercising, (walking), all pointed to an issue with getting oxygen into my body. I wasn't breathing as well as I should have - puffing while walking, ( I DO walk fast when exercising), when normally I don't puff, and the higher heart rate and lower SPO2 pointed to an issue.

These kind of health monitoring functions are really very useful. Monitoring of trends is helpful. Hubby showed similar elevated heart rates and lower Oxy when he had a week of feeing a bit 'off'. Very interesting and useful.
