Cable to use two monitors plus laptop screen

#Post
1

Can someone advise what cable I need to add a second monitor so I am using my laptop with 2 further monitors. Both monitors need to work as an extension, so I can drag things between all 3 screens.

The laptop is a Dell Latitude 7490 with a USB C, HDMI and 2 x USB slots available. Currently I have one monitor connected to the HDMI port.

Prefer cheaper, ie closer to $60 mark than $100 if possible. I am just not 100% sure what I am looking at as I know some splitters are just duplicating what is on the laptop screen which is not what I am after.

Hopefully I have given all the necessary information.

Maybe look for a USB C to HDMI convertor

I only have one screen running with my laptop and I have this. But I don't have room for another screen or know what to use for that setup.

I can drag between both. I basically use the laptop for the majority of my stuff and the second screen if I am preparing financial reports for meetings, and if I am working from home as I have dual screens for work.

If you want to run 3 different screens you need more than a cable. You need a USB 3 to HDMI / DVI. If you use one of these you can output to three monitors

I bought a second hand one from PTL Computers with all the cables a few months ago for about $80.

Thanks, my research was starting to point towards some sort of 'docking station' is what I need.
