Laptop charger output

I presume I damaged the cable on my charger - probably crushed.

Original is a power output of 2.7 amps, Is there any problem with using one with an output of 3.42, as per below?

Rapid 19V 3.42 Amp Charger
Overheating Protection with Smart Chip
Overload Protection with High Quality Wires
Anti-Interference Feature with better Isolation Materials
Power tip 3.0mm * 1.0mm (3.0mm *1.1mm 3.0mm 1.0mm)

as long as the plug fits and the voltage is right it will be fine. a lower amps would cause it to charge slower, higher amps 'may' charge a bit quicker but it is dependent on the charging circuit in the laptop which will most likely set limits to protect the battery

And just make sure the plug polarity is the same as the old one at the end that plugs into the laptop.

Higher amps are fine and MAY charge the device faster as king1 says dependant on circuitry. DON'T vary the voltage though.

Polarity is the same. Voltage is the same. Thought I'd better ask the resident experts first.

As above, Correct voltage, err on higher Amps.
lower amps will not only charge slower, but is a primary reason for overheating chargers.
Point 2 of a volt either way shouldn't matter unless it's a real picky device but the Amps have to be the same or higher

1 or 2 volts up or down is normally fine in an emergency for very short term usage but not recommended

If it's a cheap Chinese copy, I would hope for higher amps, they often run minimal heat sinks etc on low (tested real) amps.

i use a old HP adapter on a chimei monitor that the power pack blew up. What is important is the voltage and pin (+) - usually plus middle and minus outside and then to have the same amps or higher. As the amps is only the volume of power the pack can supply. to little is bad and more is not to much of a problem 20% more is well ok from original. but not 20% less amps.
worst case you need a programmable power supply to use your divise should it have load sensing . There is a guy in a uk mall fixing stuff He has tons of vidoes on how to test things you would need to learn . He said once electronics repair is like to learn the piano.
i think his channel is electronics repair.

here he is lol i found it quite fun how he once explained how he had to do whats it called again when you remove the chips . Yea hot air stations . He used some sort of straw and heat and used his mouth to blow making a hotair gun in the late 1980s or so in Rumania i think.
