Firefox 93.0 icons missing

#Post
1

During the latest upgrade of Firefox , some icons in the taskbar vanished.
How do I get the copy and paste icons back?
I used to be able to choose the icons out of a window, but copy, cut and paste are not there any more.
No I don't want to use ctrl C, V,X, so don't suggest those.

Taskbar? the thing at the bottom of your screen that has running apps on it and any you pin. Or are you meaning menu bar?

I've never seen a copy/ paste anything firefox. Sounds like you had some odd customisation, maybe an extension that's been disabled.

Maybe it's a menu bar. There is one line above it. There are other people asking the same question, and not being answered.
Oh, the Cut and Paste have now arrived, but not the Copy.

There is still no Copy icon. I wish Firefox would stop making changes.

As regards updates, Firefox has a dictatorial attitude. Possibly to protect non-techie people - by keeping security up to date.
So the OPTIONS menu no longer includes choice to disable updates.

For the rest of us it's a bluddy nuisance - recent updates have wiped out useful extensions - and replaced existing icons with faint, useless ones dreamed up by some arty-poo person at Mozilla.
And rolling back to previous Firefox version is a PITA.
A system restore might work.

A very simple solution to thwart the updates, (only tested on FFox for Windows):
_____________________________
1. Close Firefox
2.Create a new folder in your Firefox program directory named: Distribution
3. Create a simple PLAIN text file containing this text:

{
"policies": {
"DisableAppUpdate": true
}
}

4. Save this file in your new Distribution folder, with the filename policies.json

5. Restart Firefox
______________________________-

Presto, your Firefox/Options screen will now show
'Updates disabled by your system administrator' (that's you.)

Footnotes:
1. If a serious security issue arises that is then covered by Mozilla updates,YOU will
not be covered. 'Cos you're not receiving updates, see?
So look out for security alerts, disable the tweak and allow updates if you have to.

2. If the above steps are mumbo jumbo to you, don't even try. Call your nephew.
(Pay him accordingly - common hourly rates are from $80.00 to $300.00 /hr.)

3. No responsibility for this tweak if you go to sleep at the wheel as regards updates, or cannot follow the instructions - and smoke comes out the top of your PC.

What's the problem with using ctrl C,ctrl V?
Are you on an Android phone or tablet?
(Still missing many keyboard functions like < and > to move throught text.)

I'm on 93, no change to my menu. Not currently loaded to Windows on this machine though. Haven't loaded to W7 to check that.
