I'm assuming you are talking about 'Borders'...
i'd have to say the other half hasn't been set yet or correctly. try going over it again, unset the border, then reset

No I am talking about grid lines in an excel sheet and have tried your suggestion.

gridlines don't display on anything printed and afaik can't be individually set, they are there purely to give visual clarity to the individual cells for the user.

Borders on the other hand are something you can control at the individual cell level and do display on print previews etc

you might see what i mean of you open a calc sheet and the use the view menu and select 'view gridlines for sheet'

Further, a border is not just a border around the outside of your form, it can also be a border around a cell, or a range of cells in a row/column, giving the effect of a grid... but again, very different to Calc grid lines...

Hi greenforde, king1 makes some good points. How are you putting in the grid lines?

Also, if you have a lot of info (and grid lines) in your spreadsheet, the screen resolution just might not show them in the print pre-view *even though they are actually there*. Perhaps you could try printing out a single page and see what happens? - Alternatively, if ink and paper are scarce, try printing to a pdf, then when you open the pdf, you can expand to see if the grid lines would *actaully* print. :)

If it's a simple I want to print the gridlines (borders) on all cells, click on the menu - Edit - Select all, Format - Calls, Borders tab, then click the 4th one along in the Line arrangement - Presets section with tooltip - Set outer border and all inner borders. This will add borders to all the cells. Click ok.
If there are some you want to not border, do the same process but don't select all, and then choose Set no borders in the same section.

Putting the grid lines in highlight area, format, page, sheet, press grid, ok. Seems to be working now. Can I email the sheet to an other computer for them to work on?

well that's interesting, looks like you can print the gridlines. I still think you should be using the borders for this function, far more control over size of lines color etc

you can email it by File -> Send, but you need an email client setup like Outlook or thunderbird

Of course you can email a spreadsheet.

I don't have Libra but in Excel I highlight the section of the sheet and select Page Layout -> Set Print Area before printing, otherwise the scaling and printing isn't under my control.

You have compiled a spreadsheet. That's nice.
You want to email it - you seem to suggest you have emailed it in the first line of your post but in the last line you seem to suggest you have yet to manage to email it ?

I"m confused.

Perhaps if you re-read you post and edit it so it makes sense please ?

By default the calc sheet will be in read only mode when opened from an email on the other computer.
It needs to be saved to My Docs folder or similar, and then will be able to edit it and send back by email.

That's irrelevant. What they mean is the attached spreadsheet needs to be saved to ANY folder on the computer prior to someone trying to edit it.
