Google Chromecast crashes when I lock my phone

| 1 | Hello. I'm not sure I am posting in the right category but... When I Chromecast to my t.v the app crashes when I lock my phone. I have reset the Chromecast, looked all over Google and settings in my phone plus Google home settings and can not figure out how to fix it. Has anyone had this issue and how do you fix it. | 2 | Firstly, has this only just started happening - was it working fine before ? What app are you referring to ? More precisely - what app are you casting from ? It's possible to cast from many different apps to a Chromecast. And what type of phone ? And if Android/Apple what version of the operating system ? | 7 | And what do you mean by the "app crashes"? Do you mean the Youtube broadcast on the TV fails? If so, how does it manifest itself? If you mean the app on the phone, how do you know if the phone is locked? How the Chromecast dongle works is that you have a app on your phone and you tell the app to tell the Chromecast dongle to fetch a streaming service such as Youtube from your home WiFi network. Once the broadcast is working, it doesn't matter what is happening on your phone. You could put your phone through the Insinkerator and the broadcast will continue. | 8 | That isn't true, I had the same issue on my Samsung phone when it decided to put the YouTube phone app to sleep when the screen turned off. | 13 | Tested. Opened Youtube Android app. Cast a Youtube video to Tv. Force close app. Video keeps playing on Tv. As someone stated above: "Once the broadcast is working, it doesn't matter what is happening on your phone. You could put your phone through the Insinkerator and the broadcast will continue."
