This is a phone problem

#Post
1

I hope some one can help me with.
I have a Motorola - Nexus 6 phone, which is relatively new. Upgrade from previous Motorola. On my other phone I could change the length of time before my phone turned off if it was idol. This one I can't do that, it turns off constantly, if i just put it down for a few seconds and can find no way to stop it doing this. Its bit annoying as I have to swipe it and find page or app I was on. Any thoughts ?

settings/display

take a look in there.
Oh and 'relatively new' certainly is relative - that model of phone was produced in 2014 !

Yep. Settings, display and there will be a setting there along the lines of "how many seconds of inactivity before the screen turns off" or similar.

And idol is a type of statue, usually religious...
idle is when something does nothing.

But a statue does nothing, so it's idol and idle,

Have checked settings & display plus everywhere else there's no setting for adjusting it Have Googled for it found nothing. Got in touch with Motorola but they no longer have support as now owned by some obscure company. My last phone was great thats why I purchased this darn thing ... but other than it turning off frequently it is ok

That's fine. One of the downsides is it'll be stuck on an older version of Android and it wont be able to be updated. So that's unfortunate as it'll be a security issue.

There is DEFINITELY a way to change the screen time out.

Try this:

Tap Settings.
Scroll to 'Device' and tap Display.
Tap Sleep.
Change duration:
15 Seconds
30 Seconds
1 Minute
2 Minutes
5 Minutes
10 Minutes

Or:
