Market rent Murrays bay-WTF?

| Everything is missing except houses-no rooms or flats(there used to be). Only houses and it seems misleading for a 2 bedroom in this area. What is happening with market rent website lately?! I contacted them a while ago, they said it was under construction, but nothing on the page says it's under construction. Is this an artificial way for them to try and keep the rent prices down by not displaying them? https://www.tenancy.govt.nz/rent-bond-and-bills/market-rent/ Edited by evoalg at 11:26 pm, Sun 19 Sep evoalg - 2021-09-19 23:22:00 |
| Any govt website is generally outdated and inaccurate. Looking at that careers site to see what people should earn is always a laugh. ryanm2 - 2021-09-20 07:06:00 |
| Tenancy Services market rent site is useful as an input to eg setting rents. But only as one input as the data is up to 7 months old and incomplete anyway. Anecdotally, some tenants use it as evidence for a Tenancy Tribunal application to have rent reduced but if that is the only evidence it is easily rebutted by the landlord. Back in 2018 Grant Robertson, hearing complaints from tenants about rent invited them to contact him. Many did. His response was to advise them to apply to the TT for a reduction. I did look at the time, saw no applications at all. artemis - 2021-09-20 07:19:00 |
| yeah, it's just strange that other areas have info(not necessarily accurate, but at least it's there). Murrays bay info was REMOVED. It'd be more useful to look here on TM for the actual rents, but for some parameters(not the price), nothing comes up. If there is no listings, this could be a sure indicator of how popular(hence the lack of supply) the rental is. I thought Market rent uses the actual bond info. In this case not having any record of it while they have it sitting there is a bit dodgy. .. evoalg - 2021-09-20 11:24:00 |
