Noticed a name in my FB friends unknown to me. As far as I know neither invited or accepted. Wondered if this is possible or must I have clicked something in error??

I have "unfriended" so presume all clear but with cyber hacking wonder if this was invasion?

You can have people in your messenger part of facebook without friending them yes. Thats how the facebook marketplace works.

thanks bitsnpieces, this was actually in my fb friends, not messenger. I infer from your comment that it was likely my fault somehow . I don't think FB bots do glitches. In any case no need for me to worry he was a scammer. Thanks.

nah, wasn't saying it was your fault, just that when people you haven't friended message you they appear as a contact in messenger.
Glad you sorted it anyway.
