Since i,me about to toss my phone and get a new one, as i got abused the last time i brought this up, but for the past year this thing has been shutting itself down on the internet, by this i mean going to the home screen while reading a news artical, i was not accidentally hitting the on of button i made sure, but it was usualy sensitive news items, on a mainstream news souce, but it hacks me of, is someone playing the fool somewhere where they shouldn't be, intelligence agencies?.

No. But I very much doubt the SIS are shutting down pages you're reading on your phone. Have you tried using a different browser?

There is no such thing as a cheap i phone...only old or obsolete mocels are cheap....
What model is it..
maybe try checking whether you are using the latest software update which is ios 14.7.1
or the old switch it right off then restart
or save all your settings and reset the phone.
Although you have some interesting views on life i doubt as nice lady has said that you are being tampered with by the SIS "Suckass Intelligence Service" as they are too busy tracking "Billy K" and "Cross the Rubicon" and the rest of the lockdown protesters...all 5 of them...

Warehouse has plenty of cheap phones actually, not obsolete or old. Of course they don't have that BRAND name all over them, you know the ones, where you are meant to buy the next $1500 or so one every year.

yes of course there's plenty of cheap phones - but cheap iphones don't exist. The Op said they were using a 'cheap iphone'.

Anyway I wonder if that's accurate anyway as they said they usually use Chrome. If they've installed it on their 'cheap iphone' then yeah but otherwise the default Apple browser is Safari. Either way and no matter what kind of phone they've got it's very simple to install and try a different browser. The odds the Govt Spies are shutting pages down on their phone is about ZERO. So it'll be simply an issue with the phone, browser or ??? But spies - NAH.

nah they're onto you Gunna - my cuzzy who works for NZSIS was telling me at a family BBQ a couple of weeks back that one of their 'special' projects was some radical dissidents that seem to be using the Trademe forums for disseminating their ideological views.
Of course their work got quite a bit harder when TM in their infinite wisdom decided to kill off their best information source they had by removing the politics board, but he did mention they have access to all the major news media outlets in NZ and can kill connections to those they feel 'can't handle the truth' - his words, not mine...

As a helpful bit of trouble shooting info, what percentage of the articles you read are of this type?
