Outlook Changed or Moved

#Post
1

My internet is with Orcon and I access my emails through Outlook. Today when I went to check them, the icon was missing from the task bar. When I tried to re-pin it a dialogue box with: Problem with Shortcut. The item 'OUTLOOK.EXE' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly. Do you want to delete this shortcut? Yes No.

So what the hell have I done? And how do I fix it? Please bear with me, I have been working from home, doing longer hours and less breaks, and my brain is over all things computer.

Check the programs menu for it. It looks like you may have uninstalled it.

It is not in the programme list. I must have been having a real senior moment if I uninstalled it, as it would have confirmed I wanted to do that? I don't remember that.

I have just downloaded Office 365 again and it is back. Duh my brain is tired too much time working with screens and figures. Thank goodness I have week off to do some physical work around here.

i have seen occasions when office will fail to reinstall itself properly after a repair, or might have been an auto update, to the program files. Seems to need a restart of the computer before it resumes the (re)installation process automatically. Might be the case here

I had done the restart thing more than once yesterday and that didn't help. I may be old and have the odd senior moment, but I know enough that often a restart can fix some issues. Or else I ask a young person (the daughter) and even she is limited at times.
