Yes I just noticed that. Was it taken down by TM?

It is a news article from last year that should have been published on the site advising that TM was doing a full migration to Cloud with Google Cloud partnership

These are the statements that define what Trademe are attempting to achieve.

#1: A key reason we chose Google Cloud is because we wanted a long term partner to help us deliver world-class experiences
#2: Google Cloud’s managed Kubernetes offering will help speed up app development and streamline operations
#3: We see a move to cloud as a key driver to increasing our ability to effectively and efficiently deliver world-class experiences for Kiwis,
#4: A primary benefit to moving to the cloud will be the efficiencies we will gain in our engineering productivity,
#5: Modernising our technology and architecture will enable us to reap the full benefits the cloud has to offer—scale, reliability, security and more
#6: Consumers globally expect more from e-commerce brands and digital transformation through the cloud allows businesses to deliver personalised, high-quality experiences,
#7: Given one of our core values at Trade Me is 'Customer Aroha', which means putting our customers at the heart of what we do, we know we need to harness the best technology to constantly improve our services and meet customer needs

I read that as cost cutting...

Sounds like they intend to make the site worse and worser. Doing a good job of that so far.

Are you ever positive ? You don't offer anything of substance on here, just troll around putting in your snide remarks - grow up kitten!

Change with the times or get left behind!

It was advertised on the site. Well I noticed it at the time anyway. I'm sure plenty of others did as well. Everyone loves to get modernised up the back end don't they?

"From 10:30pm on Tuesday 23 March until 6:00am Wednesday 24 March, the Trade Me site will be down while our teams complete some site upgrade work. We’re moving to the Cloud which is a really big step for us, and will modernise Trade Me in the back end to allow us to be much faster and adaptable. "

Modernised back end sounds nice. All I want to do is buy and sell.
