AS with any phone it'll use data if you have enabled data and you're not near a wifi source which you have as a connection on the device.

Spotify while walking will require data. It's an internet connection. You can't really use wifi under that circumstance unless you're just walking round your house.

ok can concept thanks, what would cause it to disconnect when i leave the property,checked and i have the mobile data on, I am not on Premium would that be why? I can listen around the house fine. TIA

I don't use Spotify but would guess that you being on premium or not would not be relevant. The program won't care what kind of connection you're going to use. You just have to HAVE a connection and apps usually either need to be told in the settings what they can use and/or given permission to use - especially when needing to use data as this can cost the user and people get cranky if apps chew up their data without the owner expressly giving permission to do so.

can you download the songs make a song list, my girl has song list and when shes doing her chores shes 11 she listens away and when we in the car she dont need internet or data just plays, i can hear songs if i stream through my processor i have cochlear implant, so songs i know ill play that way cant hear them just off phone speeker, i have premium free tho in the plan i signed up for , so dunno how it works elsewise but should still be able to download and make a playlist ??

In order to listen to the songs "offline" when you're in the car, or out walking out whatever, and are not using data you will have had to save the songs onto the phone previously. The music HAS to come either from the phone OR the internet there are no other possible options.

Although I have pretty big monthly data plan, I usually download my Spotify playlists at home so I won't need to use my data allowance when outside

You may also want to try starting to play a song once you are outside wifi coverage in case it's that the service doesn't like swapping from wifi to mobile data. If you are starting on mobile data it may be happier.
Or you could do like I do for my walks and copy your music as mp3s on your phone and then you can play at any time with no services needed. I use VLC media player and choose a playlist or just put it on shuffle play when walking and it has quick buttons for pause, next track etc on the lock screen, and I have Mapmywalk running in the background.

Oh well of course keeping copies of the music on the phone/device is much better than paying everytime to listen (in either money or data or both). Download it once, save it then listen forever at no cost.
