Joining a Zoom Meeting

1 | Hi. I've just joined Zoom and am stuck at Launch meeting. I've searched for other threads and looked at YouTube tutorials but cannot find a solution. the browser is Edge but I get the same result if I try to download Chrome. I don't know what to do or if I should proceed. Does anyone have a recommendation of what is the safest thing to do? https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1596815889.jpg https://trademe.tmcdn.co.nz/photoserver/full/1596816057.jpg Thanks redden39 - 2021-08-24 09:33:00 |
2 | Have you got the zoom programme installed? tygertung - 2021-08-24 10:41:00 |
3 | ok so you have windows 10 in S mode which essentially means you can't install any software other than from the app store. there doesn't appear to be an app in the appstore for zoom So to use Zoom you will need to switch out of S mode - how to is here more info on S mode Once out of S mode you should be able to follow that download now link in the image, install the Zoom client and launch a meeting. king1 - 2021-08-24 10:46:00 |
4 | Shouldn't there be an option to run the meeting inside the browser rather than downloading and running the app? wembley1 - 2021-08-24 11:32:00 |

If it isn't showing it's because whoever set up the meeting (or their admin) doesn't allow joining through the browser vtecintegra - 2021-08-24 11:33:00 |
6 | which begs the question why would someone not allow joining a meeting through the browser. Is there an advantage to requiring the desktop client installed? more tools available perhaps? and for the OP perhaps the answer is to simply ask the host to allow browser based access... 7 | Thanks for the answers. I was given a new laptop recently. I saw about switching out of S mode but there were warnings about security and I wouldn't be able to switch back. I had a look in the app store but nothing nseeme4d suitable. redden39 - 2021-08-24 17:47:00 |

Thanks! I saw that but it sounded risky. redden39 - 2021-08-24 17:48:00 |
9 | ultimately it is your choice, but 90% of windows devices sold do NOT have S mode enabled - it is simply an extra precaution available in some preinstalled versions of win 10 and will be very limiting I might add, as you have discovered Edited by king1 at 6:02 pm, Tue 24 Aug king1 - 2021-08-24 18:01:00 |
10 | Also are you trying to join a meeting or launch a meeting where others can join, I think your clicking on the later option. loud_37 - 2021-08-24 18:24:00 |
