Crazy GPU prices and Mining

#Post
1

Are 5700xt GPUs more valuable than 6700xt GPUs to miners?
Are miners looking for 'old' 5700xts or are they buying RTX 3080's?
Contemplating swapping out a 5700xt for a better 'gaming' card.
Apparently a 5700xt mines 54MH at 91W vs a 6700xt's 47MH at 121W (under volting and tuning)...

Yes, a 5700XT is a better mining card but the 6700XT is a better gaming card. By maybe 25%?

The question for me is why you think you need a better GPU, a 5700XT still goes pretty well!

A 5700xt is fine for current use - though more monitors and work may mean greater use. In the current market if people want to make money on cards through mining then maybe they might be interested? Upgrading for 'free' for a specific purpose sounds logical to me.

Well, a used 5700XT seems to be going for $800 to $900 used on Trademe. The only thing to do is use that as a baseline, decide what card you would upgrade to and decide whether or not you want to pay the difference.

The GPU market seems to be stabilizing somewhat so now is as about a good of time as you will get to get rid of something like a 5700XT. In my opinion used GPU prices have peaked.
