6 | Cladding might be an issue as might price. Some buyers will be put off by no price but the seller may be ready to sell by now! Edited by committed at 7:02 pm, Wed 11 Aug committed - 2021-08-11 19:01:00 |
7 | Property features The direct fixed is possibly an issue, although on the upside it does have eaves. However it doesn’t state what the cladding is. That definitely needs investigation. Being it also states it was built in early 2000s, you can probably be sure it hasn’t got treated timber framing either. So another alert flag there. Then there’s the fact it’s number 13 - off putting for some. lakeview3 - 2021-08-11 19:14:00 |

10 | It doesn't really look like the kind of house which has been used as a meth lab anyway. tygertung - 2021-08-11 20:44:00 |

oh yes for sure anyone would be foolish not to spend say $1k on a pre purchase inspection (btw I have no idea how much they cost these days) and walking away as it costs too much to remedy than spend close to $1 million dollars and find it going to cost another $50k to get things right cathi - 2021-08-12 08:49:00 |
14 | The cladding will definitely be reducing the pool of buyers. If you like it get yourself a report and go from there. Also ask the agent for any reports done previously by anyone else. superdave0_13 - 2021-08-12 09:36:00 |
15 | if it aint sold fast in this market then later on is gunna be a problem if you need to sell. cladding will be BIGGEST worry - it ruins your life as its never ending repairs and worry. stay clear no matter what price flagheaven - 2021-08-12 15:40:00 |
16 | Maybe for some "legal reason" the owner has to be seen as "having it on the market", but does not really want to sell ?? May be a divorce settlement onl_148 - 2021-08-12 16:32:00 |

Funny story but when I worked in real estate, one of my colleagues had tried to to sell a similar looking house to the one in this thread. House didn’t sell so the owner decided to reclad with weatherboard. When recladding, owner found no evidence of a leaky home. Then when trying to sell a second time, some buyers were nervous that the house had been reclad and assumed it must have been a leaker!
