Don't worry, Herr Cindy is going to announce an announcement to organise a working group to advise on more coal shipments from Indonesia...

Luckily I hve a spare Chinese diesel heater bought for the motorhome. One of the worst decisions made by the loonies was killing of natural gas.

Wouldn't you think they have a better plan in place before stopping gas and oil exploration. Oh yes, we can import dirty coal from Indonesia. Dickwads.

Just wait til everyone gets their electric cars and sit back and watch New Zealand grind to a halt...
I was staying in Central Wellington for a week recently. ALL THE LIGHTS WERE ON BUT NOBODY WAS AT WORK in all the office blocks during the weekend and evenings.
Why don’t they flick the flucking switch when they leave the buildings? ????

That would be a good question for the Minister Of Power Cuts.

Actually, I am so disgusted after last nights crisis I am going to start an email campaign...
Who should I aim my anger at?
Do I target a few specific MPs or send one to everyone?
To be honest, I’m thinking it’s not just happening in Wellington though, or is it?
(I remember as a little girl living in Southland we had power supply problems and “turn me off” stickers on light switches everywhere you went.)

If power can't be supplied do we have to pay the supply charge?

I imagine lights are left on in buildings for security reasons.

I guess the last person to leave NZ doesn't need to turn out the lights since Comrade Ardern has now got that sorted!

I am interested in all the fires caused by charging electric cars in the garage over night. Not sure if it has happened in NZ at the moment. But recommended not to charge over night as can cause fire also not to leave sitting to long unused. I wont be having one probably in my lifetime, dont have fifty grand or so sitting around.

na the tenants will just rip a few doors of the hinges and light a fire in the lounge and it will be ok because the landlord meant to supply the heating

Yes, exactly as I used to do when I was a commercial cleaner in the 80's - funnily it got me to thinking I've moved on from cleaning up other people's sh*t, but then I remembered I'm still a landlord.

Having many electric cars may help, if set up to do so they can feed power back into the grid and flatten that demand spike. It would also be likely that the most cars are in the wider Auckland area, where new generation is most problematic.
Then those cars can charge later in the evening and through the night.

What is clear is that the power grid is long overdue for a significant upgrade.
