Apologies if this has been asked before.

My Samsung phone currently uses 'Samsung Gallery' as a cloud back up for photos I've taken on my phone. But it's pulling the pin on Gallery and the backed up photos either have be uploaded to One Drive or they'll be deleted.

I haven't investigated One Drive and my 'free' Google drive is almost at capacity (I no longer use the back up facility).

I'm not keen on paying for a cloud service that may have features I don't need and I'm wondering which (if any cloud platform) people recommend. Should I just back up photos and videos taken on my phone to external hard drive?

well you can use dropbox to sync photos between phone and computer but dropbox only has 2GB in the free version. This can be worked around if you take the photos out of the dropbox folder and place them in your pictures folder whenever Dropbox gets full

Far better paying paying google for more storage. From a bang for bucks / ease of use perspective.
