3D print files - help required

#Post

Does anyone on here have the skills to come up with a 3D print file for 1/24 scale wire wheels for model cars?

I have two plastic kits (originally produced 50 years ago) where the wheels are rubbish. There was a company in the US who used to do wire wheel kits, but the owner has retired.

I don't yet have a 3D printer but would rush out and buy one if I could get the file(s).

Don't know the scale and it's a complete car but...it has the wire wheels.

Or...36 pages of wheel models (I'll let you do the searching).

Or...learn to write your own STL file.

I would think the issue is that most 3d printers would not get the resolution you want. not even sure a resin printer would do it

It can be done, but the spoke pattern varies according to the age of the car and the size of the original wheels. Older GP cars were on larger diameter and narrower wheels than say a 1960's GTO Ferrari as per the above link.

People have done 1/8th scale wheels that can carry a surprising amount of weight, as the inherent design of a wire wheel is very strong and it is only lateral forces that expose the real weaknesses. For a static model, that is irrelevant.

It seems what you are looking for is the 3d data itself right as the end use is by the by.
