Making stencils

| Hi, I'm interested in making some stencils to use on cookies for a fundraiser. I could use an ice cream container lid but wondered if anyone has a cricut or similar and would be interested in discussing the possibility of making some for me? missing1 - 2021-07-02 12:53:00 |
| It is easier to use a thin plastic sheet, like the ones we used to have for overhead projectors. Stationers usually have them. You can print on them, and they are easy to cut with a box cutter or scalpel. They are washable - which is essential for food, and flexible enough to not make a mess on the base surface as you add the design. I use mine (hand cut stars) for chocolate dusting occasionally when I want to show off... oh_hunnihunni - 2021-07-02 16:02:00 |
| Thanks Ohhumnihunni :) that's a really good idea. I was thinking a stiffer plastic but if overhead transparencies work that's easy :) will just have to make sure it's not too detailed missing1 - 2021-07-03 08:31:00 |
| I have made stencils out of the transparency sheet with dies too, using my cuttlebug. mamad - 2021-07-06 10:42:00 |
| I go to Stationary warehouse and ask for the off cut of the laminating they do. They have plenty of uses and as good as the overhead projector sheets. dilligaf_dah - 2021-07-08 14:45:00 |
| And it is quite hard to find a good use for that stuff as well, so stencils are perfect. Our local university technology technician used to love giving the waste bits away, and kept a box for just that purpose. It is useful for journal and artist book making too. See through pages are fun. oh_hunnihunni - 2021-07-09 09:08:00 |
