Do I need Antivirus

| So I have just purchased a new Lenovo Laptop Windows 10 Home. It came with a trial version of McAfee (which is now asking me to pay). I understand Windows 10 has a build in antivirus. Is this enough? Basic personal use, genealogy, youtube, emails, internet using chrome. Or is there a free antivirus I should be considering? Thanks. catsmeat1 - 2021-06-12 10:01:00 |
| No built in antivirus should be fine I believe. tygertung - 2021-06-12 10:32:00 |
| Just uninstall the McAfee over and the windows one will take over. nice_lady - 2021-06-12 11:10:00 |

| Anything McAfee is a virus in itself lol, as above, get rid of it. kingfisher21 - 2021-06-12 21:39:00 |
| As above. Get rid of McAfee, hopefully it will properly uninstall for you. I use the built in Anti Virus and on top of that I run malwarebytes once a month and superantispyware free once a month also. muppet_slayer - 2021-06-12 21:59:00 |

| Isn't ESET Nod 32 only free for a limited time. The OP wanted free antivirus. wasgonna - 2021-06-13 11:06:00 |
