Do I need Antivirus

#Post
1

So I have just purchased a new Lenovo Laptop Windows 10 Home. It came with a trial version of McAfee (which is now asking me to pay). I understand Windows 10 has a build in antivirus. Is this enough? Basic personal use, genealogy, youtube, emails, internet using chrome. Or is there a free antivirus I should be considering? Thanks.

No built in antivirus should be fine I believe.

Just uninstall the McAfee over and the windows one will take over.

Anything McAfee is a virus in itself lol, as above, get rid of it.

As above. Get rid of McAfee, hopefully it will properly uninstall for you. I use the built in Anti Virus and on top of that I run malwarebytes once a month and superantispyware free once a month also.

Neither of them.
Use ESET Nod 32.

What's wrong with Windows A/v ?

Isn't ESET Nod 32 only free for a limited time. The OP wanted free antivirus.
