UE Megaboom 3 - Sounds like a clock radio

Logitech UE "Megaboom" 3 - Does anyone happen to have one of these? Got one on an NL special, but was taken back how much it sounds like a Clock Radio from the 90s out of the box. I am wondering if I got one that was faulty?

Had a Logitech UE Boombox classic (Elongated silver one with the handle) for many years and was expecting the so called "Megaboom 3" to be similar or not too far behind given I brought them at a similar price.

Downloaded the UE boom app from store, and played with the equalizer which gave it a little more Bass, but was still no where near the sound quality in terms of definition/clarity I was use to when comparing it with the elderly UE boombox. In fact, increasing the Bass caused the rest of the frequency response to reduce into this muddy mess.

I don't think the bass response on the example I have is approaching anywhere near what any sane person would consider it "...thundering bass..." that's printed on the product package.

Anyway... Currently in discussion with Noel Leeming to get it exchanged or refunded. It's just no matter how much I try to like it, it just doesn't pass it self off anywhere near what a $239 speaker I believe should be, especially compared against my elderly UE Boombox. (First world problem I know)

I have 2 different Bose bluetooth speakers (soundlink mini for my laptop, and soundlink colour water resistant for outside) - they're the best quality, awesome sound. Sounds like you just got a faulty logitech though. Try to listen to a Bose - love them!

So take it into the shop and play it to them.

And indeed that is what I shall be doing this Saturday morning (along with bringing in my UE Boombox for comparison). Thank you.

(FWIW / FYI only) Yeah, have taken it back and Noel Leeming have kindly agreed to refund me in full back to my card.

A fellow customer in store overheard the conversation and affirmed that he too found the same issue with the Megaboom 3's lack of bass he bought from another retailer to which he likewise had returned in disappointment.

Will admit to feeling a tad disappointed at LogiTech in this regard. When you claim "Thundering bass" in the marketing material and it turns out to be nowhere near that of the old version of the speaker, then to me, there's a problem.

Does makes me wonder if all the rave reviews about this product all over the Internet (including on Youtube) are possibly fraudulent / paid for? Probably will never know, but can never be too careful these days I guess.
