| About a month after my last purchase from China I managed to take 70 Uber rides in one night until the BNZ fraud office blocked my card, otherwise I would have taken more. It took a month to get a replacement card, and I had to pay for the card. Now I want to purchase some items from an Alibaba store. Does anyone have any tips on payment options without risk? gyrogearloose - 2021-05-30 12:44:00 |

I believe that using a CC always carries risk. nice_lady - 2021-05-30 13:44:00 |

| I have heard of websites where it generates a one off credit card number for you to use. tygertung - 2021-05-30 15:45:00 |
| Have used Aliexpress, the retail side of Alibaba, for many years without a problem with the financial transaction. Payment is always by CC. When you say 'China' what were you actually transacting with? Many traders, even on Aliexpress, try to con the unknowing in to direct transactions. You can get another credit card for free (zero base fees) from many banks. The usual requirement is just that you use it every so often, but possibly only once a year. Places like Wise also offer debit cards with improved exchange rates. A CC is better than a DC where you lose your own money while the bank sorts things out. soundsgood - 2021-05-30 16:30:00 |
| I use a separate card for overseas transactions. A debit card , which has no credit available, so I just transfer a little over the value of the purchase that i want before hitting the buy button. pheonix - 2021-05-30 17:22:00 |

| You can get a burner credit card no. at https://privacy.com/ BUT check it out first, I don't know if it is dodgy or not. Do some research first. tygertung - 2021-05-31 14:01:00 |
| I have made numerous purchases on Aliexpress with no issues, all of the payments are made through Paypal and if something doesn't turn up (happened three times in the last 3 years) I have been refunded, completely safe. Edit to add: I have never had a seller attempt to get direct payments from me Edited by easyglowcandle at 11:16 pm, Tue 1 Jun easyglowcandle - 2021-06-01 23:15:00 |
| Thanks everyone for the advice, decided to use paypal, but... I've setup a paypal account and linked my BNZ credit card, but when I go through the Aliexpress checkout the error is "This card cannot be used for this transaction". I've emailed BNZ and they might reply within 5 days, but, anyone got a hint where I've failed? gyrogearloose - 2021-06-04 14:49:00 |
