1 | Hope all our Cantab posters are safe and flood free. sparkychap - 2021-05-30 11:42:00 |
2 | At least the drought has broken in North Canterbury and fire risk has tumbled to 'no risk'---just need the nor-westers to stay away for a long time---hopefully. kacy5 - 2021-05-30 14:37:00 |

4 | Thanks Sparkles - bit grim out our way with lot of road closures. Now all we need is the Alpine Fault to rupture. seaqueen - 2021-05-30 18:45:00 |

That would be too much to bear! On a serious note though my thoughts to those affected, just seen some of the footage, bloody scary. jeffqv - 2021-05-31 15:52:00 |

Not as bad as that. The rivers that are flooding are the ones with sources in the foothills. Generally the rivers that source primarily in the Alps like the Rakaia and Rangitata have not flooded to the same degree. The rain has fallen mostly on the plains (where have I heard that before?). tony9 - 2021-05-31 17:51:00 |

How're things coming along there, Orphic? We're closer to Oxford (overlooking the Cust river) - it's been a miserable old day but the floodwaters here look to be receding. seaqueen - 2021-05-31 18:23:00 |
