1 | I have managed to kill my old PC and would like to replace the motherboard. I have tried emailing a few traders but get no response. Does anyone have one? Happy to take a whole PC but must be a D530, of any size. SFF or MT. linuxjeff - 2021-05-30 10:37:00 |
2 | I just checked online and it is a bit ancient. What is it running, a P4? Do you have to have a D30 MB or can you just use another P4 MB? I could send you an IBM one for example? I have one here which just needs a coin cell holder repair. tygertung - 2021-05-30 19:28:00 |
3 | It is the PC I use for Gaming on W98 and I dual boot with W2000 just for laughs occasionally. It is indeed a P4 and the intel chipset has drivers for W98 which is the main requirement. I thought that if I replaced the mobo with the same kind I would not have to mess with drivers. I dont want to do more than necessary to get it up and running again so I will pass on the IBM. linuxjeff - 2021-05-30 21:04:00 |
4 | Might be a few days but probably can help mrfxit - 2021-05-31 07:37:00 |
5 | Yes W98 probably won't like Mobo change. tygertung - 2021-05-31 08:16:00 |
6 | Why? Just change it...get a motherboard/cpu/ram bundle and upgrade the machine. lythande1 - 2021-05-31 08:19:00 |
7 | It's an old friend and I like it :-] linuxjeff - 2021-05-31 14:39:00 |

And run W98? I doubt it will run on newer hardware than that. No driver support. tygertung - 2021-05-31 15:46:00 |

I have several ECS boards from the socket 462 era. They would run Win 98 but question is would they fit your case? Also got CPU and coolers to suit. namtak - 2021-06-04 09:35:00 |
