Using iTunes to put music on my iPhone6

Over the years I have sucessfully put hundreds of songs from my computer on my iPhone using iTunes.
Recently our very old PC died - it had an old version of iTunes as I was wary of doing updates since it was working well.
So, we got a new Dell laptop with the latest version of iTunes.
Today I tried to instal songs on my phone and nothing happened.
Has the download feature been discontinued by Apple?

You probably need to download and install the full iTunes.
https://support.apple.com/downloads/itunes
By default, they point you to the Windows Store version that doesn't have the full functionality.
