I thought it would be French, was only joking about the Polish.

I was once in France and went to buy a netbook, but was just going to type some details into a computer to register the purchase or something and I noticed that the keyboard was all crazy! Lucky I hadn't paid and pulled out of the deal.

Could have been a cat or a ham fist, you can change language with "Windows key and Spacebar" or "Left Alt and Shift".

If you look at your language preferences (click the language icon to the left of the current time) you can remove languages you don't need - for example I just have English (New Zealand) and Maori.

Might not have been the keyboard rather the language chosen for the computer, a translator thingy
