Question please:

My site's

https://www.examplesite.com [New Wordpress Blog Site]
https://shop.examplesite.com [Shopify store]

BOTH the above main and sub-domains names are registered at Godaddy

https://www.examplesite.com [is hosted at Namecheap]
https://shop.examplesite.com [is a Shopify store]

If possible, I'd like to point examplesite.com to Namecheap servers - without in any way impacting shop.examplesite.com [ie, so the shop doesn't go off-line].

If possible, can anyone please dot-point step-me through how to achieve this please? [[idiot proof talk best works for me :) ]

I repointed myself examplesite.com to Namecheap [DNS] the other day, but after about an hour it took the shop offline too, I'd clearly like to avoid that please.

The A record in the DNS settings determine that...

there should be
the main A record using the @ symbol in there example
the www A record
the shop A record

They can all point to different servers if need be
