I honestly don't understand why people need to live like this. The joy of walking on the beach yesterday cost me nothing.

Not everyone is a patchouli smelling hippie SQ, but I take your point.

The happiest time of my life was when all I owned fitted into the pack on my back. But as you get older you accumulate a few comforts.

It's got worse, Cinders. I'm flirting with veganism.

I'll pop in for a kale smoothie next time I'm in the area.

I'm hearing you! Mr SQ took me to the Greymouth Motor Camp for our honeymoon, but he understands (now) that an ungraded cabin is no longer quite the level of accommodation he should be aiming for.

And does veganism flirt back? (Is that a chickpea loaf in your pocket, or are you just pleased to see me?)

They only get into these positions because society lets them through worshipping American corporations. They dont have customers, they have addicts who snort up marketing messages insinuating that if I wear this brand name or use this device I am successful and accepted.
Just look at these idiots queuing up to camp out on footpaths in front of shops the night before the next iPhone is due out. Retailers, tech giants and these sports goods/shoe manufacturers are the worst.

He reminds me of 'Data' off Star Trek. But with far less personality.

Six kitchens, good grief! I often watch those HGTV house hunting shows when I can't sleep and have a good laugh at the "tight" kitchens, the "gut job" and the need for two to three bathrooms.
They'd have a fit of the vapours if they saw my wee cottage.....

One Million a year in property tax, ouch, the other half doesn't have the income for the up keep.

When one moves, after the divorce, could invite many homeless to stay for company.

Obligatory:

But you know, we were happy in those days, though we were poor.

Aye. BECAUSE we were poor. My old Dad used to say to me, "Money
doesn't buy you happiness."

'E was right. I was happier then and I had NOTHIN'. We used to
live in this tiiiny old house, with greaaaaat big holes in the roof.

Heated driveways are almost a necessity in Canada and many northern states of the USA. Just sayin’..........

I didn't think much of it. Needs to go to the tip with all that gym gear and tables and books might tidy it up a bit.

Yes I was thinking might be suitable for council estate accommodation. Could see if all that security can reduce crime in them.

If Bill Gates is Jewish, that would explain the kitchen situation - two for the main house, two for a granny flat area, maybe two for the hired help - assuming they are all practicing kosher.

snap! :) my 113 year old cottage is as small if not smaller than the current 'tiny' houses being designed :)

Six kitchens would be useful, one for each of the first 6 days of the week and on the seventh (i.e the Day of Rest) it's takeaways.
So no need to clean or wash-up for a week!
