HDMI multihub

#Post
1

Hi all, can you advise if an HDMI multihub would allow me to have the freeview box, the Vodafone TV box and a chrome cast device all plugged into the HDMI at the back of our TV? I want to be able to cast Acorn to the TV whenever we want to watch a show, without unplugging either the freeview or the Vodafone box. We can't upgrade our TV to include a built in freeview as we live north of Whangarei and they just won't work up here. Thanks.

The TV I bought has satellite and terrestrial freeview, I'm certain the satellite freeview will work north of Whangarei.

This will do what you want, another damn remote though.

To my knowledge the hubs are one input multiple output devices, you need the opposite, multiple inputs one output, and I'm not so sure they are bidirectional. You may find one that is though.

edit to add: I see a few advertised here as well, search "HDMI Switcher"

Satelite or terestrial don't yet work north of Whangarei.

There are already two HDMI inputs on the TV. One is used for thr freeview box, the other the Vodafone TV box. I will try to get the one that ronald08 suggested. Thanks all.

Satellite works everywhere in NZ and is what you'll be using now

E. Why not watch Freeview through the vodafone box? It isn't any worse quality than Satellite.

Yup, the one mentioned above works well, we have one the same, although we got it off TradeMe for a lot less.

I have an HDMI CLUX-41AP
4 x inputs and 1 x output.
Unfortunately I cannot remember where I purchased it from.
I use a learning remote so that I can cut down on the number of remotes that I have to use.

Isn't the Vodafone box a Freeview box and it has casting abilities so you could cut down on some devices.

i use this https://www.ebay.com/itm/373157440588?hash=item56e1eaac4c:g:
cAEAAOSwHlhfP6s0

and its great its remote range is around 5-7 metres and takes 2 AAA batteries not those silly watch batteries - edited to add all the cables plug in the back of the unit so with it next to the tv or whatever your not looking at excess cable :)

Wrong

So you're getting your Freeview signal via Satellite!

As for built-in Freeview (Satellite) receiver, there's few TVs around that has dual tuners (Terrestrial and Satellite), something like:
https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/TVSAM12043/Samsung-43T6500-
43-Full-HD-Smart-TV-Works-With-App

and it's even a smart TV that "may" do the job of Chromecast and Vodafone box!

Exactly.

I have a gen 2 Vodafone TV box and it comes with all the standard free-to-air channels that are on Freeview. Can't understand why you would have both boxes connected?

Also if you need to cast, my laptop and phone can also connect to the VTV box (and directly to the TV) without Chromecast
