| I am getting several scam emails a day. Any way I can stop them? cary14 - 2021-05-16 12:51:00 |

| Do NOT try to 'unsubscribe' from them. If you do that you have just notified them that you are indeed a 'Live' email address and this will guarantee you get MORE. nice_lady - 2021-05-16 12:58:00 |
| You'll never be able to completely stop scam or spam mail. Just block and delete. nice_lady - 2021-05-16 12:59:00 |
| Emails do not open click and move to spam if you know its scam or spam. I get hardly any practising this intrade - 2021-05-16 13:11:00 |
| I have just received two emails purportedly from Meridian with the heading "Thanks for choosing LevelPay" trade4us2 - 2021-05-17 14:01:00 |
| Do the emails have you actual name in them instead of something like 'Dear customer' and do they quote your account number? This is basic stuff. If you get any email from some utility provider that should be the absolute MINIMUM . nice_lady - 2021-05-17 14:25:00 |

| And a scam will normally want you to log in or similar to get your account passwords, or credit card details, or similar, so they can steal your identity or your money etc. nice_lady - 2021-05-17 14:30:00 |
| Meridian's phone is very busy. I suspect they have sent this to all their customers. (twice) Your online LevelPay request has been successfully received. Nice one – you’ve made a great choice! What’s next? If you have any questions, we’re here to help. You can chat to us online at meridian.co.nz, email hello@meridian.co.nz or give us a bell on 0800 496 496. 11 | The contact details they've provided are accurate. We are with them also but I haven't gotten one of these emails. If I did I think I'd be unimpressed if it lacked my actual name and the account number. That's very poor. Try their online chat. 13 | It would be nice if Meridian used the word Chat on their webpage somewhere. trade4us2 - 2021-05-17 16:50:00 |
| The email is from "10.23.40.143" which is unknown. Why am I the first person to tell Meridian about this? Edited by trade4us2 at 4:54 pm, Mon 17 May trade4us2 - 2021-05-17 16:53:00 |
| trade4us2 wrote: Everyone understands LevelPay, right? Instead of your monthly bill varying each month as to how much the meter has changed or their estimate, it will be the same amount every month, with perhaps a year-end adjustment because of unders and overs. So the scammer is thinking you'll overlook not remembering this online request they say you made, and then they'll send you a direct debit form to set up a standard monthly amount into their account. It'll be a couple of months before Merdian say "hey - you haven't paid" gyrogearloose - 2021-05-17 17:16:00 |

No, Meridian has admitted that they sent the wrong email. Instead of telling me about LevelPay they told me that I was using LevelPay. trade4us2 - 2021-05-17 18:54:00 |
