Its bloody ridiculous.
I see on their twitter they have posted some updates, how professional to use social media to get the word out, not a single word on their official support page that lists their known issues!

Apparently running this command will fix it, have not tried it yet.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun\OfficeC2RCli-
ent.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.13901.204-

if you start OUTLOOK in safe mode you will be able to read and compose emails... you lose some of the add-on, but at least email works..
start OUTLOOK in the normal way, but do so while pressing the control key.. answer the pop-ups about safe mode with YES. Your email screen will look a little bit different.. Just close out of OUTLOOK will stop safe mode ...
The offical MS support page also tells you how to revert back to previous version / download of outlook, the version before last nights "update"..

Our IT dept have said:

"There is currently a worldwide issue affecting visibility of content in Outlook. Not all users are affected.", and,

"Microsoft are incrementally rolling out a fix over the next 4-5 hours. Once you have received the fix you will need to restart your Outlook application one or two times. Expected completion time 3pm today. "

Careful with that, it may cause you to change update channel unexpectedly
