buying a scanNcut for material

#Post
1

I'm just a little confused at the moment.. have been researching the different types: brother, cricut, cameo to name a few.. I won't count the ones you wind over a cookie type cutter as they aren't what I want.. I do however want to have various patterns cut out of material of different weights [from canvas to a light cotton].. the cutting methods can vary as the cricut have a small wheeled cutter for heavier material [at an extra cost], but I don't think the brother does.. so for regular cutting of material - who uses one? is the program to convert easy & not without too much cost? can I change & save easily?

thoughts & problems I might not have throught about.. I embroider a star pattern & am finding it hard on my hands to cut it out after tacking down stage - but am wanting to do more on a regular basis

I have a brother scanNcut model 550. I haven't tried cutting out canvas yet, but there is a blade for this weight fabric. I'll let you know when I've tried it.

the sdx1200 has an automatic blade depth, so you don't have to set the blade, have already used it on the drill, heavyish denim and also the iron on.. my next test is the leather to make small mouse ears
