| Organising a funeral and the funeral director doesn’t want original photos. I have tried scanning them but they were far too dark. I have now photographed them with my iPad. What do I do next. This is for the video that is shown before the service. Any help would be appreciated. gaimon - 2021-04-26 19:03:00 |
| Try a different setting on the scanner? tygertung - 2021-04-26 19:26:00 |
| Thanks tygertung, but I’ve tried that and there was no difference. gaimon - 2021-04-26 19:31:00 |

| Take them to Warehouse Stationery with a USB memory drive and they will sort it out for you. flower_tears - 2021-04-26 20:05:00 |

| gyrogearloose wrote: Something obviously wrong as I have never ever had a scan come out darker than the original. Agree with #2. May need to thoroughly check ALL the settings in the scanning menu. All too easy to get them wrong. Either a user fault or the scanner is stuffed. Have you tried the scanner on a document as well as a photograph? Edited by socram at 9:57 pm, Mon 26 Apr socram - 2021-04-26 21:51:00 |
| Have you previously used that scanner to scan photos with any success ? Edited by nice_lady at 10:18 pm, Mon 26 Apr nice_lady - 2021-04-26 22:15:00 |
| I've never heard of a funeral parlour not having a person available to scan the images, to make the rememberance displays & cards. bitsnpieces2020 - 2021-04-27 10:27:00 |

Do you have another device such as a laptop? In the past when I have wanted to put photos from my iPad onto a memory stick I have emailed them to myself then used my laptop to transfer the photos onto the stick. jonnythecat - 2021-04-27 12:45:00 |
| You are scanning the photo prints right? If you are scanning the film negatives you need to take the white part on the scanner lid off. Not all scanners can do that though. There is a light comes on from the lid as well to scan the negatives. If the photos are to be on the video. You can scan it at a lower resolution or the iPad's camera at a lower resolution. Even 2 megapixels ie 1920 x 1080 should be OK. Save it to JPEG and the file could be 1MB each. Most projectors are 2MP. In my experience volunteering to scan photo's and make a funeral slideshow is very stressful, there's a learning curve and people keep handing in more photo's after you think you're finished. When my brother passed unexpectedly, I remembered that he'd asked for help scanning 6 months earlier, and when I rang his son and asked what music to add he looked around and found a handwritten list of music on the computer desk. gyrogearloose - 2021-04-27 19:15:00 |
| Thankyou all for your help. All sorted now. Ditched the scanner and successfully photographed the photos via iPad. p.s. nice_lady Yes, I have successfully scanned photos in the past so at a loss why these particular photos were so dark. gaimon - 2021-04-27 20:02:00 |
