1 | Please help a semi technology-literate oldie. I have a Samsung 27'' monitor which when I open up either first thing in morning or after taking break to do other things (like housework or cooking BLERK) the screen has a line which becomes many lines, then a blank screen. To get a screen that can be seen I have to unplug and replug cable Thanks in advance aries62 - 2021-04-26 10:50:00 |
2 | Does turning the monitor off and then back on have the same effect ? Have you tried a different monitor on it ? Edited by nice_lady at 11:39 am, Mon 26 Apr nice_lady - 2021-04-26 11:39:00 |

Find the setting for 'advanced display settings' and locate the display adapter properties, there's a button for 'List All Modes' - mine is set at 1920 x 1080 True Color (32 bit), 60 Hertz. You'll probably find some modes display really poorly, but you might find some of the modes look good and don't have the syncronisation problem I think you're describing. edit: and the other tip is that the display settings pages should describe the make and model of the monitor correctly - it shouldn't say "unknown monitor". If it does, then you should install the driver from the CD that came with the monitor, or download the driver from the manufacturers website, so that Windows knows correctly what modes the monitor can run.
