Overlocker

#Post

I am looking to buy a new overlocker. I have industrial machines but they are in my sewing room outside and now it is getting colder and I am getting older I am keen to sew inside in front of the fire and television. With my worsening eyesight I like the look of the air threader. Time to update my horn cabinet is at least 30 years old as is my Bernina sewing machine (which I love) and will keep until I get further involved in quilting. Any recommendations please for a brand?

I have a bernette which is fine, but there are probably better. A bit plasticy.

Maybe a bernina over locker is more sturdy and easier? I just could only afford the bernette at the time.

Juki overlockers get good reviews
I have Elna overlocker needles tilt for threading, it is super easy to thread all pathways.
Have fun test driving different models

Does anyone know what causes one twin needle to break when sewing?

On a sewing machine? I think it’d normally because it’d blunt . Or I haven’t installed it properly

Probably not pushed up far enough.

Too much fabric?, or maybe it was bent.

Is your horn cabinet in good condition? I have one and it was sitting in the sun but mostly covered up and all the plastic woodgrain has come off it.
