thank you kateley, I have held the power button down for quite some time, no results. I'm wondering if it is totally out of battery power even though the green light shows briefly. That would stop it opening, I reckon, because it probably needs more power to open than any other function. It's been on charge all night, no improvement. I do have a paper white model that we bought when we were first thinking of venturing into kindles. Neither of us liked it much, so we bought two basic kindles which we've been quite happy with, although It did take a while before I could get one that would operate. I returned four before we got one that would work properly. Now, a few years down the track, (about five years I think) they are both misbehaving somewhat. I dragged out the paper white that had been in storage, and find I am getting on ok with it now. Possibly because I also have an ipad, so may be a bit more tech savvy now than I was when we bought the pw model. It looks like I'll be muddling along with the pw for a while yet, then maybe I'll be forced to invest in another basic model. In our 80's now, we tend to hope things will last till we breath our last. Our son, who will inherit all, is not a reader, being dyslexic, so he will not benefit from our upgrade colin433 - 2021-04-18 10:33:00 |
