What is the best product to use for stencils on fabric please

Depends on what the fabric is and what it is for. ie. is it going to be an art piece, does it have to be washable, etc.

Bit more detail would help - do you mean the stencils themselves or the print made using them?

Many years ago at school we used really stiff paper, cut out the stencil & then painted it with varnish on both sides. We painted one side, allowed it to dry & then painted the other side.
Techniques may well have changed since then!

You can buy stencil plastics, and apps that allow them to be cut to design. All the hard work - and the dammit type mistakes eliminated!

As for inks, fabric paints or acrylics both work well and application by sponge is efficient if you haven't got access to a screen.

you can buy fabric stencil paint that you iron when dry to set it.. cozby sells the paints & when I bought an auction of cotton bags - there was a trial pack of the paints to decorate your own bags
