Neighbour replaced boundary fence - no discussion

#Post

So.
I have a rental in a town about 7 hours away from where I live. I've had tradies doing some work for me between tenants. I noticed in one of the video updates he sent me that the neighbour appears to have replace a bounty fence (around 25m long) without discussing it with me or the PM (who I've also emailed BTW). Its a different style and doesnt match any of the other fences now. I've looked through council databases and the owners of the next door property dont live in NZ, so I assume they had their PM undertake the work.

What can I do in this situation? Im not happy with the unmatched style or colour. The old fence was fine. It looks like they removed some of my trees. I also need to check its still on the boundary.

Not sure what to do!

A) Is it actually on the boundary or is it the neighbour's fence?
B) What is the problem?

Problem is they removed the fence that had been surveyed in (when I had the fence built) and removed some established trees (on my side) in the process. I'll need to get a survey done to see if they have built the new one on the boundary.

Our neighbour sent us a message on facebook saying they were looking at replacing the fence.............We said allgood lets catchup have a discussion about it and when etc. A month later they had removed the existing fence. I was like ohwell there goes that. Now I got a new fence for free.

The only problem I can see is that they didn't charge you. I would be happy with that. Paint your side if you don't like the colour. put your fence back up on your side. First wforld problems aye.
