Old Rug Repair...

1 | Good morning's. We have two rugs which were rolled up, and stored on their ends in a garage which flooded. One side of each rug is damaged (like a black rot). It has since dried, but the material is now thin and easy enough to poke a finger through. Anyone know of a cost effective person/company who can equally trim the sides down, and hemmed/finished in some way to stop fraying? We're in the Waikato, but happy to travel (within reason) to get these repaired. Also, could the colours would need reviving too. They're quite sunfaded. We'd contacted a rug Repair place in Auckland, but they want close to $400 per side (~$1,600 total). At the moment, that's a bit much for us, unfortunately. machinehead - 2021-04-09 10:12:00 |
2 | Some carpet sellers, who also sell offcuts hemmed, may be able to help. voyager4 - 2021-04-09 10:13:00 |
3 | I would def approach a carpet place.... when we had our house carpeted we were able to get some off-cuts turned into mats... dazarae - 2021-04-09 14:28:00 |
