Cannot send photo to overseas

#Post
1

Can attach and send text with photo attached via iPhone 7 to NZ mobile number. But cannot sent to relatives overseas - two of them in Ireland. Text message gets through but photo will not deliver. Does anyone know what's going wrong in the "electronic void"?? Message settings are the same for each recipient I try. Recipients email me back and ask "Where's the photo"? Any help appreciated.
My iPhone is right up to date with Apple system specs.

Email or upload it to imgur and share the link or something instead. So many different companies and steps in the process getting overseas, might be stripped at some point in the process.

You are trying to use MMS system, (multimedia messaging service), which is what's used when sending messages with attachements, in particular images. This has issues even in Nz as the recipient may not wish to enable it due to it means they'll be downloading it on their phone data allowance. Trying this internationally isn't going to always work either due to it having to pass thru multiple servers and they may not allow it as bandwidth costs money and someone will have to pay - (You or the recipient). Anyway it's not practical. Just use email or put the pics up online somewhere and send them a link.

Apps like whatsapp allow you to send photo's, and setup groups so that the relatives can chat amongst the group.

Get Watsap installed at both ends and your problems will be gone.

Even Facebook messenger does photos, videos, live, etc.

Yes - using MMS system. Didn't know recipients set up could be a problem. Yes - aware of the other options. All good ideas, shall mull over.
Thanks for help.

The fact is not so much recipients being the problem it's more likely telecos and their international agreements.

Install Signal on your phones, secure and privacy guaranteed and won't snoop like Messenger, Facebook and Whatsapp.
You can then send photos and videos as data and also make calls using data.

Use iMessage if the recipient have a iPhone as well.

How would you know or keep track of what phone the recipients have, some people change phones like fashion accessories.
