| hi there, I am trawling through lots of notifications every day from all the real estate websites/apps which is now getting very wearing. In your opinion/s what is the best one/s for finding the following requirements: 3-4 beds, around 200-250 sqm house, 3000-4000 sqm land, lifestyle/rural upto 45 minutes drive from Hamilton Boundary in any direction, price bracket range. It would be particularly useful if I could filter by land size as that cuts out a lot using my current (manual) method. To date I find the homes.co.nz site with the map the most convenient but I cannot find a filter for the land size :(, and I am not sure that it is covering both lifestyle and rural as they don't appear to be interchangeable, waiting in anticipation..... bethel1 - 2021-03-24 20:43:00 |
| Trade me has this, but its not obvious: Setup your search: Hamilton / Lifestyle / 4 beds / price band etc Then once you get the complete results, click on REFINE on the results screen, scroll down and get to Lifestyle land area. You can then select from given bands (in your case it would need to be 1000m2 to 1ha). That should then resort and give only those results. sparkychap - 2021-03-24 20:53:00 |
| Just buy in Hamilton = less travel / pollution / fuel $, less wasted time, less good rural land wasted on lifestyle blocks..... trogedon - 2021-03-25 10:59:00 |
| I don't know if I'd call 1 acre "lifestyle". That's just a really big back yard. So those properties may be under residential or lifestyle. (that is just my opinion though. I don't know what the threshold is for a property to become a lifestyle property) But yes, I second trade me as a good option. I have a saved search looking at lifestyle blocks in my area. As the land size you want is quite small, I'd search under lifestyle properties and residential, just to ensure you aren't missing anything phoenix22 - 2021-03-26 08:46:00 |

In the old days they were more commonly associated with small holdings or "hobby farms" (ie not large scale farms). Most lifestyle blocks created in the past decade or so are just posh houses on large lawns. sparkychap - 2021-03-26 10:47:00 |
