I've had a couple of jobs previously where I could use Terranet to search using a person's name and find any property the had an interest in. Waaaayyy back in the 90s I could do a manual search in the council office, or whatever LINZ was known as at the time.

Is there any website where I can pay a casual fee and do the same search? I don't know any specific address, just a regional boundary.

You can go to linz and register for nothing, but agree you will not use the data for commercial use.

Then download the owners dataset as well as a land parcels to link it with. Then you can search the data for any owner.
