| Decided to upgrade my phone so I can scan QR codes. That works fine, but calls to me go to Voicemail after about two rings. How can I increase the ring length so I have time to answer the call? rai5 - 2021-01-31 16:56:00 |
| That would be to do with your teleco not the phone I'd think. Dail into your voicemail and play with it's options. Who is your provider? Edited by nice_lady at 5:06 pm, Sun 31 Jan nice_lady - 2021-01-31 17:04:00 |
| I tried that but can't find that option. I am with Vodafone and didn't have the problem with my old phone. I just swapped the sim from the old to new phone so assume that my voicemail should not be affected. rai5 - 2021-01-31 17:07:00 |
| Ps: I am using a quite new Oppo phone right now and there are no such settings on the phone. Edited by nice_lady at 5:19 pm, Sun 31 Jan nice_lady - 2021-01-31 17:08:00 |
| Press *610 and follow the voice prompts. nice_lady - 2021-01-31 17:10:00 |
| Just tried calling *610 and I am told it is not an active number. rai5 - 2021-01-31 17:12:00 |
| From the vodafone website: On your handset, dial * * 61 * 021700700 * 11 * [time in seconds] # Example: To set your ring time to 30 seconds: ** 61 * 021700700 * 11* 30 # - this will set your ring time to 30 seconds. Just found further info! Prepay customers cannot change the ring time setting. Though I'm guessing if you have a Prepay Plan you'd be OK to change the ring time setting? Aaaand..... I just tried those numbers meself, but they didn't work..:( Edited by hazelnut2 at 5:28 pm, Sun 31 Jan hazelnut2 - 2021-01-31 17:20:00 |

yup, nothing beats talking to a real person! I hope the wait isn't too long. hazelnut2 - 2021-01-31 17:29:00 |
| Finally I now have found out that as I am prepay I have to call them and they can fix it. I called and it has now been extended. Relief, but it's amazing I had to physically call. rai5 - 2021-01-31 17:42:00 |
| Well you could have done the online chat that would have also worked and is often faster than calling the provider. nice_lady - 2021-01-31 17:49:00 |
| I tried online chat but she was the person who told me to call them. Fortunately it wasn't any wait. However as my husband was having the same issue he called them and was told to use * * 61 * 021700700 * 11 *. he did it and he is now all sorted too. Thanks to all who have made the effort to help. 13 | Oh yeah that's cool. I found those instructions also but it said 'Prepay customers cannot change the ring time setting' without further clarification so I left it alone. Anyway good result. Weird how they set it up like that though. What kinda Oppo phone did you buy ? nice_lady - 2021-01-31 19:43:00 |
| A5. Our old phones were fine but too old to use the QR code. As we are about to go away on holiday we decided to get a phone that could use QR code etc. So hence the change. Seems a waste though in a way as our old phones were quite adequate for us. (Yes we are well into our 70's) We both have other electronics that do everything else. rai5 - 2021-01-31 20:13:00 |
| What model of oppo did you get? nice_lady - 2021-01-31 20:15:00 |
| Oppo A5 is the new one. Samsung Prime is my old one inherited from husband, so not new but very functionable for my needs. His was a more recent Samsung but it has the version prior to being able to use for QR app. rai5 - 2021-01-31 20:26:00 |
| Ah had to have Android 6 or later. And that's pretty old now. Probably 6: years since they brought that version out. nice_lady - 2021-01-31 20:42:00 |
| Yes that's right. But still served our needs. Ok when we are at home most days, but when away we want to do our bit and keep an accurate record of where we have been. rai5 - 2021-01-31 20:55:00 |
| Good on you. Far too many don't care. nice_lady - 2021-01-31 21:14:00 |
