| Hi all, just wondering has anyone used either the vodafone or spark wireless sims on third party routers? Have a net gear nighthawk 4g and want to know if it works as I need the bridging mode. I can't get fiber and adsl 1 is really crap compared to 4g. e.g.g - 2021-01-21 21:35:00 |
| The SIMs as provided with the ISP fixed wireless solution 4G routers will not work in a third party router. If you want to use a third party router then you need to use a standard data plan SIM which is of course more expensive. spyware - 2021-01-22 08:37:00 |
| No, but I plug my skinny 4g router/modwem thingy into a 4 port switch/hub/router thingy as it works better for the wifi and setting static addresses for printers and works better with my pi-hole dns server. Maybe you can do that? Otherwise, just try your nighthawk. tygertung - 2021-01-22 08:37:00 |
| No point trying a FWA SIM with nighthawk as does not work. spyware - 2021-01-22 09:46:00 |
| Bugger, I'm aware the RBI works but the plans are small up to 200gb. which will just last half a month. Have a Unifi USG Pro which runs over the Unifi network. But the Fixed wireless question has been answered which means it wont work where I am. e.g.g - 2021-01-22 20:46:00 |
| So why isn't using NAT on gateway an option given the connections are CG-NATed. Triple NAT rather than double. spyware - 2021-01-22 20:59:00 |
