New IPad 10.2 32GB or 128GB (wifi)

My wife is looking to update her 5 year old tablet as it is now slow and has a short battery life. There is a $200 difference between the new 32GB and 128GB IPads. If photos etc are being saved to the cloud is the extra $200 worth it? Not sure what space the apple operating system takes up these days as old tablet hasn't had updates for a while now. Be interested in your thoughts?

The old ipad could have another battery installed easily enough and it's not particularly expensive, but if it's slow that's not so good, anyway as for the new one you're looking at, 32GB is bugger all these days. I'd go for the 128 myself.

Apple say: "Available space is less and varies due to many factors. A standard configuration uses approximately 10GB to 13GB of space (including iOS and preinstalled apps), depending on the model and settings. Preinstalled apps use about 4GB, and you can delete and restore them. Storage capacity is subject to change based on software version, and may vary by device."

If you like to download shows on the Netflix or other streaming service app to the tablet to watch offline, get the 128gb.

I don't and I've got the 2017 iPad 32gb and it's only half full.

I wouldn't waste money repairing a 5 year old apple product. Soon they will render it obsolete with updates regardless of how well it still works.

I would go for the 128GB too.

Generally the 32GB is a waste of time. Very rare now for people to be happy with it.
Go with the 128GB.
