insulation rating in existing houses.

do you need R3 6.175mm in the ceiling
or underfloor blanket R15.650
to sell your house built and insulated then 1980+ now.?

I understand if you wish to rent out your property , a certain insulation requirement is needed.

Can you require this from a seller if you buy an existing home eg not FHB.?

open to correction but afaik to sell your house there is no required standard.
for rental yes there is standards to comply with.

sounds like someone whats you to do all the donkey work to get their "next rental" up to the required standard.

(btw i assume you mean underfloor r1.5 not r15)

You can require it but you may miss out on buying the house, or the price will go up.

No you do not need this to sell the house. If you insist that this is done they may put the price up to cover this also.
