This pop-up has appeared since Cumulative Update KB4598242.

On my laptop it appears harmless, simply replacing my screensaver screen, everything else I've used since it appeared seems to work.

First saw it on my desktop a few days back, when trying to use "HP Solutions" to use my scanner - it appears a an error pop-up would, preventing the use of the scanner. Hours later, after uninstalling and attempting to re-installing many times, I gave up and installed Window, "Scan". The HP software would not reinstall successfully, the problem appears to be that it was originally installed under Windows 7 and didn't like the upgrade to10, even when using Vista and 7 compatibility settings, that was using both the supplied CD and downloading from hp.com. What actually is it and how did it block the use of the HP app?

EDIT: Hasn't replaced the screen save screen - just pops up at random and remains when the machine is idle.

looks like the flashplayer logo - I is for Information I guess... probably due to flashplayer being end of life now. You possibly still have it installed

Thanks king1. Problem solved. It appears that update KB4598242 disables flashplayer and the HP Solution Centre requires flashplayer to run. Best solution appears to be to download and install "HP Scan and Capture".
